Yesterday i was pretty hungry after work and of course i always have greek yogurt so i combined my Protein Bar with it:
I heated up my bar, added 3/4 cup of nonfat plain chobani greek yogurt and oh man you'd think it was a dessert!

Todays snack i consumed in my car heading to work in about 1 min it was that good:

Coconut Banana vanilla Protein Smoothie:
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 cup Lite Coconut Milk
1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup cold water
dash of coconut extract
(green tea leaves were added to mine)
Blend it all up. It tastes like i should have been drinking it on a beach in Mexico.
Next time i want to try it with choc protein...

4 Ingredient Protein Bars

Since i knew i wasnt eating at the baseball game, i knew id have to come prepared with snacks and i wanted to get my protein in without having a protein shake. I wanted bars so devised a quick recipe:
(This made 3 but you can double the recipe)
1 cup oats
1 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/4 up almond milk or unsweetened coconut milk
2 1/2 tbsp all natural pb
1. mix dry ingredients
2. put milk and pb in microwave together, heat about 30 sec.
3. pour into dry ingr
4. mix and pour into tuperware container lined so they wont stick
4.freeze 20 and done. i cut mine up and wrapped individually. if your not eating them right away just put in fridge.(of course cinnamon or dried fruit or nuts are easily added if wanted)

Yummy and chewy. since i got home at 2am i ate one right before bed and it had been in my bag the whole time so it got soft and really gooey! it would be really good heated up or cut up atop your greek yogurt!

Giants vs. DBacks Win! 3-1

so i was asked out to a Giants game and i was amped!!!
So i layed my sneakers to rest (obviously killed it in the gym earlier but they were away for the evening and early morning...)
Get ready for game
My sis said i looked like a mermaid with my hair like that.
Well we took bart and didnt pay so we hopped the gates every single time, oh yea we be rebels lol
Went to a Sushi Jap place to eat and man were we under dressed. We walk in jeans, hats, converse and everyone is in business suits and dress wear.
We are sat at the sushi bar and are given moist hot rags...we were like ok what do we do with this, apparently you dont need a sink to wash your hands they bring the cleanliness to you!
We ordered 2 roll- one was $23 and 4 pieces and the other was$18 for 8 tiny pieces. We ordered $20 hot Sake and OMG so good. I has a liquor flavor to it which is up my ally since i never drink but have always wanted to try it.
The bill ended up to be $80!!! dont worry the boy paid, not me but it was much appreciated.

so game time, Giants won 3-1 and i was jumpin for joy. i was really close and down low to i got to actually see my GMens faces!!!

Game over and man was it intense post game-people were goin crazy cheerin and bein all rowdy it was fun
so we get on bart, get off bart at the wrong station and are stranded for abpout 30 min then finally catch the next one and get homne about 2 went to bed around 3 and guess what??? Got up at 6:00 AM! no sleep i think so, ill be diein at work. I still mananged to kill 1hr and 30 min cycling. i wanted to sweat out all my toxins

Nail Creation

so i got bored on morning and did this:

Hard to see but they are splattered. Baby pink layer with black and red splatter.
How did i do it?
1. Paint first layer on. let dry or use my tip which works 100%
    TIP--dip nails in ICE cold water and leave for about 2-3 mins. Bam they be dry!
2. get a straw and your other colors. lay down a piece of paper.
3. scrap the end of the straw on the brush of one color so there is some paint on the inside of the straw.
4. blow thrrew the opposite end of the straw onto one of your nails.(if you dont have enough paint on there nothing with happen).
5. repeat with same color on the rest of nails.
6. dip in ice
7. repeat blowing with other color if wanting more color.
8. Ice water them and done
they come out really random but cool.

Next up is my fav!
Im goin to a Giants game tonight so these were created.
1. get both colors out and unscrew to have both ready.
2. work on one nail at a time
3. get a needle
4. paint your base color on, drop a little dot on the nail and use the needle to make swirls. move fast so its a fluid movement and not getting semi dry and not be smooth.
5. continue on the rest of the nails. dip in ice water

(this design looks really good with a pastel base and a brighter color to swirl)

Have any cool ideas for nails???

Eats & Abs

So this morning i woke up not wanting anything hot so cold was the route today:
1/2 cup skim ricotta cheese
1/4 cup vanilla yogurt
1 tbsp pb
1/4 cup strawberries
1/2 banana
1/4 cup granola
I mixed it all together and you know what it tasted like??? Strawberry cheesecake! it was yummy!

Yesterday it was suppose to be leg day but since my gym was closed for memorial day, i resorted to at home shoulder day of LivFit. So i remember after the fact that i had my leg day breakfast which is always protein pancakes:

(so i only had one egg left so i had to improvise to up my protein)
1 egg white
2 flax egg whites (2 tbsp flax meal mixed with 4 tbsp water)
1/2 scoop vanilla protein
1/2 banana
1/4 cup oats
1/2 tsp baking powder
water to be runnier
Mix in a blender. i cut up the rest of the banana to lay in some pancakes along with some strawberries. I of course topped them with pb after. they were moist and not flat at all.

Dinner last night was all by my lonesome since the rest of my fam was MIA. so i threw together something as usual and it was sooo good:

(this made two meals)
1 can fresh chicken (rinsed and drained)
1/2 grilled corn on the cob kernals
1 cup spinach
1 fresh jalepeno
red onion
I browned the onions first, added the spinach to wilt and then threw everything else in. I topped mine with cilantro and lots of cracked pepper. really spicy and it hit the spot.
Also not pictured but i threw a WW tortilla in the oven to make into chips which i then smeared spicy hummus on it.

10 Days till backpacking trip

So i pulled out my backpack thats been stuffed under my bed for about 8 months and decided to try it on again and get together everything.
So i have my giant backpack where ill be carrying 5 tops, 5 bottoms, 7 panties, 4 socks, 2 bras, 1 set of pjs, makeup bag filled with necessities (toothpaste, qtips, deodorant, hair ties, sleep aid,shampoo etc), 2 pairs of shoes not including the ones ill be wearing (flips flops, converse, flats), sham wow towel, sleeping bag sleeve, backpacking sleeve (holds bp while traveling on plane). I have another little backpack to carry my kindle, money-the stuff ill need on the plane and ill be using this bag around Europe when not carting around my huge backpack.

I have all my clothes picked out and ready to be rolled up, my necessities are all together.

This has been a dream of mine for as long as i can remember and in 10 days ill be starting it with my mom and sister!!!
So i stuffed my bag with some stuff to test it out:

Sunday WOD:circuits

So i had planned this morning to run to the park and do circuits on the jungle gym but i realized i didnt feel like leaving the house in the wind, so while checking my instagram i thought id just make up some circuits.
We bought strawberries yesterday so i wanted to incorporate them boreingly:
~~Vanilla Yogurt w/strawberries & flax. WW tortilla w/ pb and banana

(500 calories)
So i wrote out my circuits and this is what i created:::

Warm Up
3 mins jogging in place

Circuit 1
50 air squats
40 pushups
30 sec plank
20 chair dips
10 curtsy squats with knee lift (each side)

Circuit 2
50 burpees
40 reverse lunges with ab twists (each side)
30 cross body mountain climbers (each side)
20 high knees
10 inchworms

Circuit 3
50 jump squats
40 tricep pushups
30 bicycle crunches (each side)
20 superman flies
10 donkey kicks (each side)

Circuit 4
50 alternating lung jumps
40 plie squats with heels raised
30 knees to elbow in plank position (each side)
20 1 legged dead lift touching floor (each side)

Cool Down
1 min jogging in place

Do 1st circuit, rest for 30sec-1min and move on to the next circuit and repeat till all 4 done. Then start over with circuit 1-4. This should take an hour but if more breaks needed take them.
I was dripping sweat but by the time i was going for the next round, i was pumped and blasting through them soaking myself! ( about 423 calories burned)

After my stretching i headed straight to the kitchen to make my recovery shake:
1/2 frozen banana
1 scoop choc protein
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1/4 cup water
2 bags green tea leafs
Blended in my magic bullet and came out just how i wanted it thick! so i could eat it with a spoon!

After downing that, i washed my car and vacuum it out-total body workout. Keep abs contracted the whole time, squat your butt low (dont bend over) and use legs to push you up. This is a simple activity that you can turn into a workout if you just put some effort into it. (about 150 calories burned)
I went inside and started cleaning house-also total body workout. (about 128 calories burned)

My stomach was growling by 1130 so i wanted something fast:
2 slices turkey, 2 tbsp spicy hummus, 1 cup spinach, cilantro, slice tomato, cracked pepper.
on the side: pink lady apple, 1/2 cup seaweed salad.
(253 calories)

2:00 rolls around and im hungry again so:

First Part:
1/2 cup unsweetened cocnout milk
1/2 scoop choc protein
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp peanut floor
Mix and put in freezer for about an hr.
Take out and stir.
add 1 cup nonfat plain greek yogurt
Slightly mix. top with strawberries and 1 tbsp almond butter

Clean Eating

So last night my mom was like "lets order pizza" and my face was like ugly face you make when you smell something nasty-yup that is my reaction now to non clean eats because my bod is trained to dislike that food now. So while two boxes of pizza sat on the counter, i made myself a veggie fritatta.
3 egg whites (& tbsp water)
3 slices red onion chopped
2 mini bell peppers
3 slices tomato chopped
1/2 corn on the cob (kernals cut off)
1 cup spinach
1 garlic clove (minced)
1 jalepeno (with seeds) chopped
avocado (mashed)
1. grill onions with garlic till brown.
2. add jalepeno, tomatoes, peppers, spinach, and corn. cook till spinach wilted. spread out veggies evenly in pan.
3. add egg whites to pan, spread it out so it fills all around veggies.put lid on and leave for about 5 mins or till eggs set.
4. flip on to plate. i smeared the avocado on, cracked pepper and cilantro to top.

While i was eating my mom was like "carah is your dinner good?" -"yes mom" "i bet its not as good as ours" -"i beg to differ"
yup my family accepts the way i eat now and i love it!

So today i opened, so i packed lunch (part of it).
In a bag i brought 1/3 cup oats, 2 tbsp peanut flour, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1 tbsp flax meal.
when i got to work i mashed about 1/4 cup sweet potato, chopped 1 cup spinach, chopped 1 hard boiled egg white and heated it up. i added my dry mixture and added hot water. I chopped strawberries to top and sprinkled cinnamon. it smell like pumpkin/apple pie (my co-worker said).

All in all good. I would like to have this in the comfort of my home so i could have added my unsweetened coconut milk and extras but you do what you can. besides it was still clean

Friday (Semi) Rest Day

So i was planning on going to the gym after work but it was way busy so i just couldnt get there. I figured i havent had a rest day in about 6 days so im due. I mean im basically lifting weights the whole time and im moving on my feet, working my abs etc. Also ive decided to go to the gym before work even on the weekends instead of just the weekdays. I open during weekends so that means i just leave the house earlier! but i see my instagram friends gettin up a 4am and hittin the gym so high five to them!
This morning i didnt feel like making breakfast so i threw together stuff:
Remaining Vanilla Nonfat Yogurt, 1/2 banana, tbsp pb, tbsp chia seeds, tbsp flax meal, 2 tbsp granola, sprinkle of unsweetened coconut flakes, sprinkle of almond meal.
(so i was hungry 2 hrs later so i made myself "chocolate milk" using unsweetened coconut milk, tsp unsweetened cocoa, few drops vanilla liquid stevia-eh it was ok, i prefer choc protein milk)

I usually pack a lunch for work too but we have these high voltage, high tech blenders at work so i brought stuff to make a smoothie:
1/4 cup raw oats, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein, 1 1/2 cups fresh spinach, 1 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup pineapple, chilled brewed coconut chia tea, ice.
This made 2 of those glasses and you can bet i downed both! I was peeing every 15 mins but hey it was yummy and my coworkers were grossed out and weired out about veggies in a smoothie...

After work, i just wanted to get home and enjoy my fav:

Chobani Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt with homemade Almond Butter. I ate this while catching up on my Housewives of Orange County (guilty pleasure).

WIAW & gymX2

So today was leg day for LivFit so this morning i wanted pancakes!
Chia Seed Protein Pancakes:
3 egg whites
1/3 cup cottage cheese
1/3 cup oats
dash of cinnamon
1/2 banana
strawberry chia seed jam (or any jam or fruit)
1. throw all into blender except jam
2. make pancakes and add drops of chia seed jam on top before flipping. Top with whatever (i always top with pb) BTW these are super moist!
No syrup on these babies!
So i worked out starting at 830, done by 1030 and i was craving this:
1 scoop wheat grass powder, 1/2 frozen banana, 1 scoop sunwarrior choc protein, ice, unsweetened coconut milk, water--so creamy and yummy!

I have to pack my lunch cause i work so this was what i packed:

Marinated chicken, 1/2 cup brown rice, pink lady apple

After work i went to my fav Health Food Store and got my usual:
Voskos Nonfat plain greek yogurt (beyond my fav even compared to chobani!) and Justine's Classic Almond Butter. i literally look forward to this every single day.
I had this before i hit the gym and almost threw up all over the place, so i had to take it easy and i had to leave super early...huge bummer.

So dinner we had hamburgers ( WW bread, lean hamburger patty, avocado, lettuce, and grilled corn on cob on the side)

So im trying to come up with certain things for my blog for different days so i just came up with "Things I Love Tuesdays." Random but hey im getting some ideas from Katie and how she does these sort of things.
Im thinking one eats, one outfit, one random
So here we go:
1. Eats: greek yogurt, fruit, honey mixed and frozen.
Honey yogurt berry pops made from Greek yogurt, raw honey and mixed berries :)
2. Oufit: Messy Bun + casual thrown together oufit

Sleepy Time

So i have the Vanilla Sleepy Time Tea and i dont like the flavor all by its lonesome so i was adding a few drops of Liquid Vanilla Stevia to it but i was sick of that too. So since im suppose to have protein before bedtime according to Jamie Eason's LivFit Meal Plan, i decided to combine them
Vanilla Protein Tea:
1 vanilla sleepy time tea bag
1/2 scoop vanilla protein (or casein)
1 1/2 cups heated water
3 drops liquid vanillla stevia
1. Very Important step-mix your protein with about a 1/4 cup water in a seperate mug.
2. heat your water with the tea bag in it (dont add it after its already heated)
3. pour hot tea into protein mug. add stevia. mix. enjoy
i have lots of different teas that i do this with like coconut chia and vanilla roobios, so try any. Next for me is to use chocolate protein in my sleepy tea.
Any good tea recipes you have???

LivFit Phase3

So moved on to Phase3 of LivFit and i LOVE it! So the first day was Quads and Calfs-i did it but spruced it up with crossfit moves instead of some of her moves. I added box jumps, burpees, squat with ball thrown to wall and a bunch more. Iwas drippin sweat like no other and was literally dry heaving about to puke! But you know what?!? It was an amazing feeling.
So the next day was arms and cardio. The arms was different because its higher reps so lowering my weight was a had to. So with the active rests and supersets on the menu, i again added crossfit moves like toe ups (hang like doing pull ups,keep legs straight and lift them to touch the bar your holding!-killer for abs and well whole bod). Cardio for P3 is HIIT sprints (30 sec on and 30sec off at speed 8). I increased my speed because i felt 8 was too slow and on my "off" 30secs i did 15 squats for the first 10 mins, ab crunches for the next 10 mins, and tri dips and body holds for the last 10 mins. Defiantly was drippin and i was getting so many stares-yes i like to experiment on treadmills. I did all these moves on the treadmill; i did not step off of it for about 38 mins. The last few mins i cranked the incline to the highest and worked my buttox!
See where my feet are, i did my squats like that.
The next day of LivFit was shoulders, which i did in the comfort of my own house. Instead of running sprints, i did sprints on my stationary bike but still doing 30sec on 30 off (while watching the new season of Keeping Up The Kardashians-my weakness!)
Tuesdays i stay at home since i dont have to work or go anywhere unlike every other day. So what did i do?
Made Almond Butter:

I burnt half of the almonds while roasting but i WAS NOT going to waste them so of course i used them anyway. It has a nurnt flavor but its interesting and different, not gross at all. I guess its a good change; ill be having my normal 2 tbsp of it with my 1 cup of nonfat plain greek yogurt for meal 4.

So we have lots of eggs in the house so ive been on an egg white kick. So of course the go in my oatmeal but also i had:
Egg White Wrap!
4 egg whites made with lots of seasoning
avocado smashed up
whole wheat tortilla heated up
I wrapped it all together and had jalepenos on the side. So good and really simple.

Egg White Cinnamon Omelet:
3 egg whites beaten with cinnamon and cooked.
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 tbsp chia seeds
1/2 tbsp flax meal
3 tbsp raw oats
(set aside half and added 1 tbsp cocoa powder)
Filled ricotta mixture into omelet (half plain and half cocoa). Topped with 1/2 a banana and closed it. Drizzled with organic natural PB.

So past couple days ive been tryin to get some sun...but i seriously last like 15 mins outside, gotta love Cali!

Clean Eats Recap

So some of my breakfasts:::
Ricotta cheese, vanilla yogurt, chia seeds, flax meal, banana, flaz & pumpkin seed granola, pb.

Cottage Cheese OIAJ:
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup oats
2 tbsp peanut flour
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp flax
2 tbsp green tea
Oatmeal turned Pancakes:
1/2 cup oats
3 egg whites
1/2 banana
dribble of water
dash of cinnamon
1. mix well (banana mashed incorporated good)
3. cook on skillet. i topped mine with 1/2 tbsp pb and 1 tbsp strawberry chia seed jam

Some of my Lunch/Dinners:
4 oz white chicken, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 cup steamed carrots, gala apple

1/2 can albacore tuna (rinsed and drained) mixed with 2 tbsp avocado, mixed salad with jalepenos/bell peppers/1 tbsp salsa, and 1/4 cup seaweed salad on the side. 2 baked tostada shells.
